Creating this portfolio has been a meaningful step in my journey as an English teacher. It represents not only the skills and knowledge I have gained, but also the dedication and growth I’ve experienced through my TESOL training. This collection includes my teaching philosophy, lesson plans, reflections, and experiences, all of which reflect my passion for education and my commitment to supporting students in their language learning journey. I see this portfolio as both a mirror of who I am as a teacher and a map of where I hope to go.

TP Observation

Ms. Alae & Mr. Mustapha

Classroom Presence:
Both teachers demonstrated strong classroom presence, using clear body language and confident movement to keep the students’ attention focused and the classroom energy high.

Voice Clarity & Tone:
Their voices were well-projected and easy to follow, helping students stay connected throughout the lesson. The tone remained friendly yet professional, which supported a respectful learning environment.

Wait Time & Student Processing:
They made thoughtful use of wait time, giving students enough space to process questions and respond. This showed sensitivity to different learning speeds and encouraged meaningful participation.

Student Interaction:
The lessons encouraged active interaction. Both teachers involved students in the lesson through questions, pair work, and open discussions, creating a lively and communicative atmosphere.

Critical Thinking & Engagement:
Their teaching approach included open-ended questions and real-life examples, which pushed students to think critically and go beyond simple answers.

Classroom Atmosphere:
The teachers maintained a calm and welcoming environment where students felt safe to speak, make mistakes, and express their ideas without hesitation.

Encouragement & Motivation:
Positive reinforcement was consistently used to build student confidence. Both teachers acknowledged students’ efforts and celebrated their progress with encouraging feedback.

Overall, the lessons reflected thoughtful planning and effective classroom strategies. Both Ms. Alae and Mr. Mustapha created engaging and student-centered experiences that promoted active learning and confidence in English communication.

Reflect on the lesson taught

The least successful lesson:
I didn’t like this lesson much as the other one because in this lesson it’s for listening, and in one part of it I read a text for students and I showed it to them in the board instead of just letting them listen to it.

The most successful lesson:

I really like this lesson because the students were participating a lot and talking about what they
liked to do in their free time and shared their hobbies with us; they were excited.

Evaluation of the Training

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our trainers for their dedication, time, and effort throughout the TESOL training. Their guidance, patience, and encouragement created a motivating and supportive environment where learning felt meaningful and inspiring.

One aspect I found a bit challenging was the pace toward the end of the training. As we approached the final stages, things moved quite fast, which made it difficult at times to fully process and reflect on the material. A more balanced schedule could have allowed for deeper engagement and better time management.

Despite these minor challenges, the overall experience was enriching. I gained valuable insights, practical tools, and a stronger sense of confidence in my teaching abilities. I am truly grateful for everything I’ve learned and for the opportunity to be part of this training.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I am truly grateful to have been part of the TESOL training at American TESOL Academy Agadir. This experience has marked the beginning of a new chapter in my teaching career, equipping me with valuable tools, skills, and confidence.

Though challenges may arise, I am excited to continue learning, growing, and making a positive impact in my students’ lives. With renewed passion and purpose, I look forward to the journey ahead as an English educator.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this meaningful experience.
